Dorine Tyr is a Togolese Fulbright grantee pursuing an M.A. in International Relations at the
Maxwell School in Syracuse University, with an emphasis on conflict resolution, democratic
governance and African politics.

She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Lomé, Togo,and has experience working as a jurist and radio host. Dorine was a consultant and researcher for the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and the Africa Women Journalism Project (AWJP).
In this role, she co-authored a report on gender representation and the role of women journalists in
Francophone African Newsrooms.

She authored relevant work in the field of contract law.

As a Princeton Visiting Editor, she contributed to policy analysis and offered perspectives towards the
36th issue of the University of Princeton’s Journal of Public and International Affairs (JPIA).
Before attending the Maxwell School, Dorine founded and hosted the English Within Your Reach
radio program, through which she contributed to enhancing Togo’s bilingual educational system.
As a campaign lead at the Commonwealth Youth Gender Equality Network (CYGEN), Dorine
continues to expand her policy and advocacy work on fundamental rights. She is particularly
interested in fostering a better world through the practice of education diplomacy and the
promotion of gender-inclusive policies.
